±0.3mm Precision Breakthrough! Millimeter-Level Grasping for New Energy Motor Housings

A new energy component manufacturer has integrated Transfer Technology's AI+3D vision intelligent loading and unloading system, equipping their motor housing production line with a "smart eye." The system utilizes a high-precision 3D vision system to guide robots in collaborative operations:



Upon trigger, the 3D camera rapidly images a 1200×1200mm pallet in 2.8 seconds, precisely identifying six layers of stacked motor housings, with four pieces per layer. The intelligent algorithm then calculates the optimal pick-and-place pose within 1.5 seconds, guiding the robot arm to achieve a picking accuracy of ±1.5mm, all without manual intervention.



01 Project Challenges


  • High Reflectivity Interference: The metallic surface of motor housings easily generates strong reflections, making it difficult for traditional vision systems to generate complete point clouds.

  • Dense Stacking Challenge: Individual housing thickness is only 35mm, with layers tightly stacked, making collision-free picking challenging.

  • On-site Vibration Interference: Equipment operation vibrations could lead to camera displacement, causing localization drift.

  • Vibration-Resistant Stable Structure Design: Industrial aluminum profile brackets combined with chemical bolt fixation effectively isolate production line vibrations, ensuring long-term localization accuracy.
