Project Solution

A leading refractory manufacturer implemented an innovative setup with two independent vision-guided robotic systems:

• Station 1: Single suction cup end-effector for special axe-shaped refractory bricks, achieving precise side-suction picking for flat stacking processes;

• Station 2: Dual suction cups designed for standard brick types; synchronous picking boosts overall throughput.

Powered by Transfer Technology’s Epic Eye Laser L 3D camera, the system generates high-precision 3D point cloud data and outputs real-time brick pose information to steer robots to complete fully automatic depalletizing.

Core Technical Breakthroughs

Multi-Type Compatibility

The system supports 55 brick specifications in total (33 for Station 1, 22 for Station 2), with the maximum workpiece dimension reaching 450 mm × 172 mm.

Micro-Gap Point Cloud Segmentation

Stable segmentation is achieved when the clearance between adjacent bricks is no less than 5 mm.

Robust Anti-Interference Imaging

The camera withstands ambient light intensity up to 120,000 Lux and operates reliably under complex factory lighting conditions.

Accurate Orientation Identification

A dedicated 3D recognition model is established based on the characteristic missing-corner geometry of axe-shaped bricks.
