This battery-swapping project adopts a mature eye-in-hand vision-guided solution integrated with the Epic Eye Pixel Pro Mini industrial 3D camera to realize visual guidance for core workflows:
• After vehicle arrival, the vision system automatically detects the unlocking status of batteries;
• Precisely locates the center pose of batteries and guides robots to complete pick-and-place tasks;
• Monitors the status of battery locking mechanisms in real time to guarantee secure locking;
• Dual-sided robotic coordination eliminates disturbances caused by vehicle body floating.

High-Precision Recognition
Powered by a high-performance 3D camera and adaptive optical system, the solution generates complete, high-quality point cloud data even for tough materials: grey painted metal and electrophoretic black carbon steel featuring high reflectivity and poor surface texture. It achieves recognition repeatability of ±0.74 mm and gripping accuracy of ±1 mm.
Ultra-Fast Responsiveness
The single-operation cycle is controlled within 4 seconds to satisfy high-frequency battery swapping demands.
Robust Ambient Light Suppression
The camera delivers outstanding resistance to ambient light interference and runs steadily under regular on-site lighting. It minimizes demands for extra shading and fill-light equipment, cutting deployment and maintenance expenditure.
Flexible Compatibility
A single system supports two sizes of batteries and battery frames. With excellent compatibility and scalability, it enables rapid adaptation for batteries of newly launched vehicle models.
